LEAD: The News Corporation, the giant media company controlled by Rupert Murdoch, has acquired the equivalent of a 12.18 percent stake in Presstek Inc., a Hudson, N.H., company that develops printing systems. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing last week, the News Corporation said it had acquired the shares as an investment.

LEAD: Daimler-Benz A.G., West Germany's biggest company, said it would buy a site on the West Berlin side of Potsdamerplatz, one of the main squares. The maker of the luxury Mercedes cars said a new West Berlin-based services subsidiary would eventually move into the office complex it plans to build on the site.

LEAD: The Pan Am Corporation said that its airline unit had negotiated the extension of $64 million in obligations and interest payments to manufactures, lessors and other creditors, giving the troubled carrier at least until Feb. 28 to pay its bills. Pan Am said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that the negotiations were completed last month.
